FAQ FOR STUDENTS
You can study one-to-one or in groups of different sizes. Details are in the pricing section.
You first need to register, using the Register option on I am a student or I am a parent. A parent can register and subscribe children from the I am a Parent option on the home page. Once you have registered, if you see a class you like and do not have a subscription, you can subscribe directly from the class page and then enroll on the class. Alternatively, you can take out a subscription directly from the PRICE page.
Â
The classes are labelled with a title and a grade, for example Algebra Grade 9. You can see these listed when you choose the Classes option on the menu or you can search.
Â
At the moment, Tutmate only offers classes. A class is a number of sessions to provide tuition on a certain subject, for example Trigonometry for Grade 6. The number of sessions per class is determined by the tutor.
Â
If you have a one-to-one subscription you can organize this directly with your tutor. If you are in a Group session then there are different options for cancelling and rescheduling depending on your plan.
Â
The price varies depending on the subscription package you chose. Sessions are always one hour and the price per hour is shown against the class.
Find the class you want to attend and enroll. You will be shown your balance at the time you enroll. If you do not have enough balance for the class then you will be prompted to add balance to your account.Â
If you have subscribed for one-to-one tutoring then you can raise this during a tuition session or in advance and your tutor will support you. If you are subscribed for Group tuition then you can ask your tutor in advance of he can include this in a session and the tutor will be able to advise you when he or she will cover the topic.Â
You may enroll on as many classes as you wish? Remember thought that some classes require different subscription levels so you may need to buy a new subscription to join a new class
