Tutor Terms and Liabilities

1. Registration Process:
All tutors are required to complete a registration process, which includes submitting a resume, providing proof of education and relevant certifications, and completing a background check. Tutors must complete any necessary training provided by Tutmate before being able to begin accepting students. 

2. Account Termination:
The company reserves the right to terminate a tutor’s account for any reason, including but not limited to, violation of company policies, poor performance, or violation of any laws.
Tutors will be given notice before termination and will have the opportunity to contest the decision. Any final payouts due will be process within 30 days after account termination. 

3. Liabilities to Students:
Tutors should do their best to improve students’ knowledge of the subject, and to provide guidance and support to students as they progress through the course.

Tutors should also make sure that any class materials, such as studying materials and class notes, are made available to students, and that all class updates are communicated clearly.

Tutors are responsible for starting their classes on time and providing quality tutoring as expected.

Tutors must also be responsive to student inquiries and provide feedback on student progress.

4. Minimum Time for Rescheduling Online Classes:
Tutors must provide at least 48 hours notice for rescheduling a class.
If a tutor is unable to meet this requirement, they must provide a valid reason for the rescheduling. 

  1. 5. Emergency Class Cancellation:

In case of an emergency, tutors should contact Tutmate support immediately if they are unable to start the class on time.

Tutors should provide updates to their students on the relevant class and reschedule as soon as possible.

Tutors should inform students and Tutmate support team in advance if they are unable to make a class or in case of any other emergency.

6. Best Practices for Online Tutoring:
Tutors are expected to use best practices for online tutoring, including using appropriate software and communication tools, maintaining a professional demeanour, and providing clear and concise instructions.

7. Quality Assurance:
The Tutmate company will conduct regular evaluations of tutors to ensure that they are meeting the required standards for quality tutoring. Tutmate might introduce and require tutors to complete additional training to improve the overall business performance and expectations.
Tutors must also receive positive feedback from students before continue tutoring.

8. Additional Liabilities:
Tutors are responsible for their own equipment, including computers, internet connection, web camera, microphone and other materials needed for the class. Please refer to our Minimum Requirements page for more technical details to run a successful online class.
Tutors are also responsible for ensuring that their conduct complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to data privacy and security.
Tutors are expected to fulfil their class schedules and take classes on time.
Tutors must maintain confidentiality of all information related to their students and the company.
Tutors should not share student information with any third party without the student’s consent or the company’s authorization.

9. Group Class and 1-1 Tutoring Policy:
Tutors are required to set up their group classes and 1-1 tutoring sessions in accordance with Tutmate’s policy.
Tutors must set their group class prices as outlined in the company’s pricing section, including the number of hours required per group class and the maximum number of students allowed based on the group class type.
